Sleep Study Diagnostic Test
A sleep study is a detailed overnight diagnostic test to understand functioning of the body at night and identify any abnormalities. It helps in Sleep Disorder Treatment. This includes monitoring of brain activity, breathing pattern, oxygen levels, heart activity, eye movements and sleep cycle. The study can be conducted at our sleep center or in the comfort of your home.
The different types of sleep studies that we offer are:
- Full Channel Polysomnography: This is the Gold Standard Test for diagnosing most Sleep related disorders such as Sleep Apnea, Restless Leg Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, REM Behaviour Disorder etc. The study can be conducted at our sleep center or at your home.
- Sleep Apnea Screening: A basic test to identify whether the patient has Sleep Apnea or not. This test is conducted in the comfort of your home.
- Titration - Gold Standard Test for managing and finding optimal treatment for all sleep related breathing disorders. Pressures, Modes and Functional Parameters of CPAP and BiPAP are monitored and managed overnight to determine optimal settings suited for your needs. PSG graphs are interpreted alongside with respiratory parameters to ensure that optimal therapy is provided with an aim to enhance sleep efficiency and quality of life.
- MSLT – this test is used extensively to test for narcolepsy, to distinguish between physical tiredness and true excessive daytime sleepiness or to assess whether treatments for breathing disorders are working.
